She’s enjoyed a career as a director/writer/producer of documentaries and factual television and current affairs for major broadcasters such as: Discovery Channel, ARTE, CBC, TVO, A&E, CTV and Global. Karen’s curiosity for video storytelling has seen her travel the world to locations as varied as China, Australia, Ethiopia, Cambodia and Haiti. If you’ve watched shows such as Mighty Ships, Intervention, Studio 2, Nerve Centre, Who Do You Think You Are?, then you’ve seen the quality of Karen’s writing and directing skills. |
Sherry LawrProduction ExecutiveSherry has a special knack for spotting young talent and guiding career paths of young professionals as they negotiate the fluid media landscape. As a professor of journalism and media at Sheridan College, she is committed to staying on top of technological advances and the demands of new content delivery methods.
Prior to Sheridan, Sherry held roles as Head of Production at TVOntario; Senior Producer/ at TVOntario, and Coordinating Producer at CBC Television (The Journal, the Fifth Estate). You can’t sit still in this rapidly changing industry; Sherry recently obtained a Masters of Media Production at Ryerson University where she completed a thesis examining game based learning in education. |
